لم تكن لتميز المسلمين عن بعضهم أثناء أداء مناسكهم إلا امرأةً هندية تدعى صولت النساء بيغم أرادت من الحج مالم يرده غيرها، فكانت عيونها ترقب العلماء وأهل الفضل في مكة، تسمع دروسهم، وتجول بنظرها في أنحاء مكة جيئة وذهاباً..
كانت المرأة قد فقدت زوجها قريباً، وورثت عنه تركةً كبيرة أرادت أن تجعل قسماً منها في خدمة زوار بيت الله الحرام، فكانت تجول أنحاء مكة باحثة عن مكان يناسب الحجاج لتقيم فيه نزلاً، ولما التقت الشيخ الهندي محمد رحمت الله بن خليل الرحمن الكيرانوي -وهو من علماء الهند الذين هاجروا إلى مكة- عرضت عليه أمرها فانبرى الشيخ يحدثها عن حلمه واحتياج الطلاب لمدرسة يجتمع فيها المعلم بطالبه اجتماع الوالد بولده، ولم تكن صولت أقل حماساً منه للفكرة فأوكلته على مالها يقوم ببناء المدرسة فيه..
ولما فرغ الشيخ من بناء المدرسة التي سماها الصولتية جعل لها قسماً داخلياً سماه دار الإقامة، وكان ماله من أحد الحجاج الهنود، ثم أتبعه بمسجد ومكتبة أوقف فيها مكتبته الخاصة على طلاب المدرسة..
غاب الموقفون عن أوقافهم، وتوفي الشيخ محمد، رحلوا جميعاً وتركوا لنا مضماراً نستبق فيه الخيرات.. وبقي الوقف وامتدت آثاره نوراً في الصدور والعقول جيلاً بعد جيل…
